Matisse - the new NetBeans GUI Builder.

I’m not really a NetBeans IDE fan, but after I saw their new GUI Builder demo, I decided to try it. To test if it can really be useful I decided to re implement application from COMP249 assignment 2. This application has tabs, sliders, drop boxes, button groups… It took me quite some to develop original QUI, and I spent most of the time trying to build nice looking layout. With NetBeans it took me approximately 30 minutes to build the same layout and move listeners and other logic from the original application. (I never used Netbeans before, Matisse is in alpha stage and often throws NPEs, I had to learn how it works… so now I can probably do the same thing must faster). Anyway I’m really impressed (mush better then IDEA GUI builder) and I will probably use it quite often when Sun will release the final version.
