ACM tutorials
Posted on October 6, 2005

Well ACM tutorials are useless and I’m happy we only had two. The guy (”Krigg?”) basically asks you to solve one problem from ACM archives. All the while bragging about us at the world finals, bright future of Concordia, life, the Universe and everything.
He is OK though, if only he would not use “OK?!” instead of full stop dot “.” in his sentences… ;-)
IMHO the format of tutorials should be different. First it is important give some theory, for example what is and how to cook “Dynamic Programming“, then give a few simple examples and explain how to approach them. Then if any time is left: 20 min for problem analysis and 20 min for implementation, otherwise just let us do it at home.

Kriggs is something of an idealist. If you get to know him more you’ll quickly understand that everything he’s at all involved in is the best and most important thing in the world.
